I am trying to write a facebook application, but i'm not sure where to start. I have programmed in java before, so I'd like to somehow use the client libraries, but I don't know how to implement them. Could someone give me some tips on where to start or what to do? I've never done any kind of server/client programming, so this is kinda new to me. Thanks!
During the update it asked me to remove some old files, i did, now my pc has major problems. i didnt remove the files on the other 2 computers in the house and they work fine. here are the problems:
compiz no longer works no matter what. i tried all tutorials
no opengl games work. like bzflag,vdrift,ect
( though i can still play netpanzer :)
screensavers no longer work
installing the nvidia-glx-new drivers does not work and i cant install the ones from nvidia's site
java doesnt work right ( cant launch geocities pagebuilder )
i have the xfx geforce 8600gt gddr3 256mb video card
everything used to work fine......
i am a pro to Linux and never had trouble like this. i do not want to reinstall, unless there is a way to reinstall while still keeping you stuff without having to mess with /home/user.
i need some websites that have games for the samsung sch-u740 (which dosnt have java). thanks.

I changed the java settings because i was getting these anoying security certificates and a friend said to turn java off..but they would still appear. I could not play videos on youtube and it would say : Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.
But when i turn java back on i just get the same message and still cant play anything. help !

I am new to Java and was wondering if any one could show me how to do this , or at least how to separate the values of the array in to separate variables that i can use the Min function on.
Ok I know it's a really weird question but I'm working on a project which will use a translucent program "floating" on top of the desktop and any active windows. I want the translucent window to stay on top and covering the entire desktop but still be able to use the windows and desktop below. First: Can this be done in Java? If so, how? and if not, can it be done with some other programming language? If it needs to be in another language that's fine but Java is the only one I know (for now) so I would need links to very specific instructions or premade software.
Hey guys, I am trying to zip a microsoft word document using winzip, but whenever I send it to my email, it is not opening. The way I am doing it is: I go to the document, I right click on it and scroll down to winzip and over to "add to zip file" I have even tried the zip and email, zip and email plus and the configure, but it still doesn't open it for me. It creates a zip file icon, and that's the one I use when I send it to my email, but it never opens it. When I go to open it, it pops up an error message: Java Virtual Machine Launcher-invalid or corrupt jar file. Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong, and how can I fix this? Thanks

i am trying to play a online game called kasparscape, i was on lastnight but when i got up this morning ths page came up
so, i have done evrything it says, i have made the floder, iv unstalled and installed lava 2 times, i have parental settings turned off, and protection mode turned of in internet explorer.
the only thing is that the java signature page will not come up but thats it... i really need help or i will just have to give up.
When ever i try to load an game, it keeps telling me that it cannot connect to the server, but my friends and play it perfectly.
I cheaked my firewall and its not blocking it it have java, shockwave, flash and direct X installed and it still wont let me load it T__T

I'm just wrote a java program that connects two computers using sockets. How do I go about actually getting these programs to run. I know i need ip addresses. but how exactly do I connect the computers? I know telnet is a possiblitity. But I don't know how to do this. Thank you for your time.
When I go to play runescape after i select the detail a white screen comes up where runescape is supposed to be and then a little red x appears in the upper left hand corner of the box. I have CA personal firewall but I dont know how to set it to let runescape work
I have two guppies, a male and a female, in a 10 gallon tank with a female beta, some neons and a clown loach. None of the fish are aggressive to each other. Even the beta is gentle and does not bother the neons or the guppies. In fact, the only slightly aggressive fish in the tank is the guppies, and out of them the female is the most aggressive.
The female is pregnant and I think within a week of giving birth. This is the first time for me to experience this and I don't want to put the fry (or the mother) in danger.
I wasn't sure what to do, so last night I put her into a fry net with some Java moss, Anacharis and some other floating plants. She seems really unhappy in there. She looks stressed and swims at the net edges looking for a way out.
I'm not sure what to do. Do I take her out of the net and then won't the babies be at risk in the main tank when she gives birth? If she is stressed in there will she still give birth? Is she in danger? I don't have a nursery tank.
OK, this is a very simple question but as I am a beginner at java i don't know the answer.
I have a number and I need to divide it by 100, then I need to divide a different number by the answer of the previous part.
An example,
154 / 100 = answer
73 / answer = overallAnswer
I need to be able to get answer in a format which won't be in a whole number format e.g 1.54.
But then I need overallAnswer to be in a whole number format and drop off the decimal point.
I hope I have worded this correctly, im a little hungover still... yes its 10pm... and I cant think straight haha.

I also need to not get the message "Loss of Precision" which I find a lot when using different variables...
When i use double to get answer it retrieves me only 1 and not 1.54 and along with the possible loss of precision
I can't watch Youtube vieos or any other online videos, my yahoo mail isn't working correctly either (I can't delete emails). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling flash player, and I made sure Java was on. Also, windows media player won't open when I try to play a video through it, and AIM won't open either. The window flashes quickly, but then goes away. WHY IS THISS?
