Open Question: New RAM or graphics card?

I have Gigabyte GA-8I915P-D motherboard and when I play Battlefield 2, it sometimes lag and I always get high ping so i got kicked in servers that kick high pingers. my graphics card is a Radeon X550T 256mb. I have 512mb ram, 200gb HD and an intel pentium 4 cpu 3.20gHZ. Do I need more ram or/and new graphics card. If I need ram, do i add it on another slot? would you need any software like ddr2 or something? I havn't changed my computer since i bought it in 2 years. i have windows xp
