Open Question: no default gateway or dns servers, can’t connect to internet?
when i type ipconfig /all into cmd prompt, i come up with this:
Dhcp Enabled: Yes
Autoconfiguration Enabled: Yes
Autoconfiguration Ip Address: 169.254.242.100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
Default Gateway: BLANK
Default Gateway shows up blank and DNS Servers isn't even there. I tried factory resetting my router, restarting the DHCP service, and doing ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew. Also, when I try to do ipconfig /renew it says "An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection: An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket." I am sure the problem is with the computer, because even if I directly connect my computer to the modem it still will not access the internet and i have other computers connected to the router that are able to access the internet. I can't access the router settings from the computer but I can from my laptop, which I am typing this question on right now.
So is there anything I can do to connect to the internet? Thanks
